About the District
- Our client is an elementary school district in California, with more than 10 schools in grades TK–8.
- The district has a well-established Afterschool program which caters for more than 1,000 students.
- One of the pillars of the Afterschool program is to provide Academic Enrichment courses to students, in topics such as STEM or Art.
The challenge
- The district wants to offer opportunities to their students to improve their Spanish proficiency, by including Spanish language classes in the Afterschool program.
- In addition, these new Spanish classes should include a strong Hispanic cultural component.

- Students perfected their intercultural and communication skills. They learnt to:
- Understanding different Hispanic cultural aspects, including traditions, food, and music
- Developing tolerance for cultural differences
- Enhancing critical and analytical thinking in cross-cultural interactions
