Fostering Spanish Language and Cultural Understanding through Library Workshops

The client is a public library in Connecticut that serves a diverse community through educational, cultural, and recreational resources.

As part of its mission to promote lifelong learning and cultural awareness, the library wanted to expand programming by integrating Spanish language instruction and Hispanic cultural education.

The goal was to engage patrons in both language learning and cultural immersion during Hispanic Heritage Month, creating an inclusive environment that supported global understanding and community connection.

The library sought to enrich its community programming with two Spanish and Hispanic culture workshops for adult learners and families.

One workshop needed to introduce basic conversational Spanish to adults interested in practical language learning.

The second workshop needed to focus on South American culture, specifically Colombia, to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and promote intercultural competence.
